Michael van Bregt and Charlotte van den Broek

From the moment you step on board “Cookielicious” Michael and Charlotte’s commitment to you is total – with the sole objective of fulfilling your highest expectations with a wonderful sailing experience.

As a successful professional team, Michael and Charlotte have worked together for over three years as skipper and first mate/ chef sailing with many nationalities and to many empty bays, exotic islands and places of culture. Growing up internationally, they are both equally fluent in English and Dutch and Michael is also fluent in German. Whatever your preference – relaxed luxury leisure cruising or action packed adventure, with snorkelling, water-skiing, or wakeboarding; Michael and Charlotte will make it happen with flair and fun.

Having grown up in the South West of England, along the Bristol Channel and in a lake district in the middle of Holland, Michael has been sailing all his life. After years of open boat and catamaran sailing, he moved on to yachts, having his first ocean experience by crossing the Pacific when he was 24.

Michael’s experience is wide and varied. Sailing traditional schooners and clippers in the North Sea and Baltic to racing in the Bay of Islands of New Zealand, regattas in Greece to coastal cruising in Alaska and India. Michael has clocked up more than 40,000 miles in all sea and wind conditions and along a great variation of coastlines, so you can be sure you are safe and in competent hands. Michael is fully qualified with MCA/RYA commercial Ocean Master, GMDSS GOC and PADI Open Water Diving tickets.

Charlotte has been sailing since before she could speak, growing up on the little family yacht during holidays along the English coast and Channel Islands. She has combined her love of the sea and boats with her enjoyment of cooking, now working professionally as first mate/chef with Michael. Crewing a tall ship along the English Channel and to Ireland and France and running flotillas in Greece and Spain, Charlotte is an experienced sailor too, holding a RYA Yacht Master Off Shore certificate. Charlotte also has qualifications in sea survival, VHF, first aid and fire fighting.

In the galley, Charlotte’s cooking skills are equally impressive, having trained as sous-chef in her teens and developing her skills in her university years and aboard a number of luxury sailing and motor yachts. Food is always freshly sourced whenever possible and prepared on board, to create the most delicious menus to your personal taste. Together Michael and Charlotte are the perfect team, dedicated to making your charter a cherished memory.
